Checklist & FAQ
What to bring
- Cash (THB) — small bills for the 200 THB entry fee and street vendors
- A dry bag or waterproof phone pouch — you will end up near water
- A copy of your passport/ID, not the original — leave the original at your accommodation's safe
- A power bank — you won't find an outlet on the beach at 2am
- Closed shoes or sandals with a strap — the sand hides broken glass and bottle caps
- A friend's phone number written on your arm or a card — phones die, ink doesn't
- Your passport original — a photo/copy is enough to carry
- Expensive jewelry or watches
- More cash than you're comfortable losing track of
- Anything you can't afford to have get wet, sandy, or lost

Haad Rin if you don't want to travel on party night. Thong Sala or the north coast beaches if you'd rather have a quieter base and don't mind a songthaew ride.
Compare zonesDo dates ever change?
Yes — the Haad Rin Business Association occasionally shifts the party by a day or two around major Buddhist holidays. We only publish a date once it's confirmed on their schedule.
Confirmed datesIs it safe?
It's a large, crowded beach event at night — use normal precautions: stay with people you trust, keep track of your belongings, watch your drinks, and agree on a meeting point with your group in case you get separated.
Do I need to book a ferry ticket in advance?
For the party date itself, yes — book 2-3 weeks ahead if you can. Ferries around Full Moon Party sell out and get overcrowded, especially the day of the event.
